Speakers for School - Cambridge Jones

Yesterday we were fortunate enough to host Cambridge Jones, an Award-Winning British Photographer from Speakers for Schools charity. He gave a thoroughly engaging talk answering all questions from the audience, giving students a great insight into his work, career and how one could get into this profession.

He spoke highly of the importance of the Arts and creative industries, and students presented an array of intelligent and thoughtful questions.

Overall the afternoon was a huge success and a few students have already approached me with positive feedback and for a speaker like him to visit again.

Some highlights of this academic year

GCSE and A-Level exhibitions

The GCSE and A-Level exhibitions were a huge success, with parents, students and staff visiting the Private View, and commenting on the high standard of work on display.

Well done to all of our Artists!

Identity Portraits

Year 10 charcoal portraits

The Year 10 Art students are starting to master using chalk and charocal to produce high quality portraits. These mediums are sometimes difficult to mainpulate on a small scale, given the transient nature of the movment involved and in the application. Well done so far- keep going and taking the risks to develop these even further.
